DVM Luis qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2005 from Évora University. He did an externship at Davies Veterinary Specialists in the UK and worked in the UK for over 6 years in Small Animal Practice, either as a permanent, locum or emergency vet, mainly in Yorkshire and Lancashire. He volunteered in neutering projects in Thailand and in the Algarve. He also worked for PDSA, a busy veterinary charity in the UK. He was the clinical Director at Vet Girassol in Odiáxere. His areas of interest are soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography. He enjoys travelling, photography, outdoors and water sports.


Nora Bakker Nora moved to the Algarve in 1986. In the first years she had a restaurant and in 1995 she started working as a receptionist/nursing assistant in Small Animal Practice. Nora and her partner run a dog and cat hotel at her house - Nora's Guesthouse in Alvor. She speaks Dutch, English, French, German and Portuguese. In her free time Nora likes to read, walk on the beach or visit her daughter in Bristol.
